HyLICAL partners participated in the 14th Joint European Magnetic Symposia (JEMS 2025), one of Europe’s leading conferences on magnetism, held from 24–29 August in Frankfurt and online.
Victorino Franco from the University of Sevilla delivered a semi-plenary talk on “Magnetocaloric materials: tackling hysteresis to enhance applicability.” In his presentation, he highlighted how understanding magnetic hysteresis is essential to transforming the vision of hydrogen liquefaction using magnetocaloric materials into a practical reality.
Tino Gottschall from Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossendorf (HZDR) presented “Magnetocaloric hydrogen liquefaction – From materials to prototypes,” highlighting HyLICAL’s progress in developing and validating prototype systems for sustainable hydrogen cooling.
These presentations demonstrated HyLICAL’s strong scientific contribution in both fundamental research and applied innovation, reinforcing the project’s role in advancing energy-efficient, magnetocaloric-based hydrogen liquefaction technologies.
